Dental Tourism Travel Checklist for Vietnam

  Patient:-     Age:-     Time:2026-10-18     View:0

A Vietnam dental tourism checklist should cover clinical records, entry documents, confirmed bookings, payment arrangements and practical recovery essentials. Preparation means more than packing: your records should reach the team, your arrangements should be documented, and you should know who handles changes. Review this checklist when booking and again before departure.

Are Your Dental and Medical Records Ready?

Confirm how the clinic accepts files and ask for confirmation that they have arrived and can be opened. Keep secure electronic copies and carry essential written summaries.

Record

What to check

Dental history and goals

Current concerns, previous treatment and intended improvements

X-rays and CBCT

Existing original files and scan dates, not CBCT screenshots alone

Previous implant records

Implant card and available component information

Medical history

Conditions, surgery, allergies and previous adverse reactions

Medication list

Names, doses, frequency, supplements and prescriber contact

Proposal and appointments

Confirmed arrangements and decisions awaiting examination

Ask the treating dentist whether existing images are suitable before arranging additional scans. Update the team if your health or medicines change after submitting your records.

Do Your Entry Documents Match Your Journey?

Use official Vietnamese immigration or consular channels to check requirements for your nationality, passport type and travel dates. Confirm passport validity, visa or exemption conditions and applicable entry requirements.

Compare your passport with any approved visa: name, passport number, validity dates and permitted entries should match your plans. For two treatment trips, check entry permission for each journey rather than assuming the first document remains suitable.

Save offline copies of your passport details, applicable visa, hotel address and return itinerary. Resolve incorrect details with the issuing authority before travelling, rather than waiting until airport check-in.

Are Flights, Accommodation and Transfers Confirmed?

Obtain the first appointment’s date, location and expected treatment stages before arranging flights. Identify examination, treatment, review and departure separately; an estimated stay does not establish that you will be ready to fly.

When arranging dental treatment travel with VNDentalTravel, confirm the treatment city, airport, pickup point, driver contact and how to report delays.

Check hotel dates, clinic transport, accessibility needs and suitable meal options. Match your booking against the selected package accommodation and transfer inclusions; arrangements for one package do not automatically apply to another. Know the flight and hotel amendment conditions if your stay needs extending.

Are Payments and Supporting Documents Prepared?

Keep the written plan, quotation and receipts for payments already made. Confirm currency, payment method, payment stages and recipient details. Check overseas card access, transfer limits and possible fees, and have an available backup payment method.

For additional treatment, obtain the dentist’s explanation and an updated cost before paying. Retain confirmations and receipts to reconcile the remaining balance.

If purchasing insurance, disclose that the trip includes planned dental treatment. Ask the insurer to confirm how treatment, related complications and itinerary changes are covered or excluded; general travel cover should not be assumed to cover these expenses.

What Should You Pack for Treatment and Recovery?

Bring loose, comfortable clothing, practical shoes, a phone charger, a suitable plug adaptor and oral-care supplies recommended by the team. Avoid buying large quantities of postoperative products before receiving instructions.

Keep regular medicines in their original packaging with prescriptions or supporting information. Check medicine import and airline requirements, especially for restricted medicines or those needing special storage. Do not stop or adjust medicines simply to fit the itinerary.

If chewing will be temporarily limited, identify meals near your accommodation that fit the dentist’s instructions. Where sedation is planned, confirm whether an adult must accompany you after discharge and arrange transport. Follow the clinical team’s specific fasting and medication instructions.

Have You Saved Contacts and Backup Arrangements?

Save clinic, clinical contact, coordinator, hotel and family details on your phone and offline. Identify who handles travel problems, who answers clinical questions and what contact arrangements apply outside working hours.

If VNDentalTravel is coordinating your visit, use its travel confirmation contact page to resolve outstanding pickup details, appointment addresses or record-receipt questions. General enquiry channels are not an immediate emergency service.

Before departure, know where your records and appointments are, how you will pay and whom to contact if plans change. Assign any outstanding item a responsible contact and confirmation date.
