How to Verify Genuine Dental Implants in Vietnam

To verify dental implants in Vietnam, connect three things: the supply source, the identifiers on the packaging and the record of what was actually placed. A brand name or sealed box alone is insufficient. VNDentalTravel’s commitment to 100% genuine branded implants combines authorised sourcing with patient verification and agreed collection and custody arrangements.

Confirm the supply source

Ask the team for the supplier’s name and available source records. Where confirmation is needed, find the manufacturer’s official contact through its own website and ask whether that supplier is an authorised channel for the relevant region and product. A verbal statement that a supplier is authorised is not the same as confirmation from the brand.

VNDentalTravel patients can discuss accompanying the team to collect their implant, with arrangements confirmed in advance. Attending collection adds visibility, but does not by itself prove authenticity.

Compare the label and use official verification

Check the unopened package for the brand, series or model, product reference (REF) and batch or lot number (LOT). Compare the product identity with the written treatment plan; ask the team to explain and document any changes.

Use the manufacturer’s official website to find its verification tool or customer service. Ask which method applies to your specific product and region. For example, Straumann’s online verification tool uses the product reference and lot number. Other manufacturers may use different processes; do not assume every QR code provides an authenticity check.

When contacting official support, provide the product reference, lot number and clear photographs of the label. Ask whether the verification method covers that product and whether further documents are needed. Save the response with your records.

Keep a copy of any verification result or official response alongside the label details. A result for an entered number should still be matched to the packaging and placement record.

The implant brand does not automatically identify the brand of other components; keep those distinctions clear when checking implant system details.

Keep the packaging intact until handover

Under the agreed process, patients may keep the unopened product until handover before placement. Follow the specified storage instructions, do not open the package, and report damage or uncertain storage conditions. Before use, the clinical team should check the seal, expiry date and identifiers against the agreed product. Opening and use remain clinical responsibilities.

Request records of the implant actually placed

Ask for an implant card, patient passport or treatment record identifying the implant at each treated position, together with copies of the relevant packaging labels. The record should connect the brand, series or model, REF and LOT with the placement date and location.

Formats vary: Nobel Biocare provides an implant card, while Straumann patient passports can carry REF and LOT information. Do not assume every brand uses the same document. Ask the team how each implant will be recorded and what copies you will receive.

Resolve discrepancies before use

If the brand, model or identifiers differ from the plan, or the source cannot be explained, ask the team to investigate before using the product. Request manufacturer clarification where needed and a documented explanation or updated plan for any proposed change.

An unsuccessful number search does not automatically mean a product is counterfeit. Check the entered details and the tool’s scope with official support. Equally, do not dismiss an unresolved mismatch on verbal reassurance alone.

The supply source, packaging identifiers and actual placement record should correspond. Resolve unexplained differences before use, and retain copies of the relevant labels, verification responses and treatment records.
