For more than a decade, Lisa lived with challenges that gradually affected many parts of her daily life.
Simple pleasures such as enjoying crunchy foods became difficult. Smiling confidently in photos or social situations became something she avoided. Like many people dealing with long-term dental problems, she tried different solutions over the years, including dentures, but never found one that truly worked for her.
Reflecting on that period, Lisa shared:
“For the last 10 to 15 years, I haven't been able to eat crunchy food. I haven't been able to smile confidently.”
After years of frustration, she decided it was time to make a change. That decision eventually led her from Australia to Vietnam, where she underwent full upper and lower All-on-4 dental implant treatment.
Although she felt excited about the possibility of restoring her smile, she admitted she was also nervous before making the trip.
“I was a little bit scared to start off with because I didn't really have a positive understanding of what Vietnam was like.”
Like many international patients travelling overseas for treatment, Lisa had questions and uncertainties before arriving. However, her experience quickly changed those perceptions.
Throughout her journey, she felt supported by the people around her and appreciated the kindness and respect she received during her treatment process.
“I've been treated with absolute kindness and respect by everybody involved in my treatment.”
As her treatment progressed, Lisa began focusing less on her worries and more on the future she was looking forward to. For her, the most meaningful part was not only improving her dental health but regaining something she had missed for many years — the confidence to smile again.
At the end of her visit, the team celebrated her journey with a small surprise. Surrounded by smiles, laughter, and warm wishes, Lisa reflected on how far she had come.
Today, she describes her experience with a simple but powerful thought:
“I'm just so happy, and I feel like I've done something great for myself.”
For Australian patients, Vietnam Dental also provides support through its Melbourne office, helping make the journey to Vietnam even more convenient and accessible.
